Russia’s Maxim Borisov is European ITHF Champion for the 3rd time

Eskilstuna, Sweden — Tuesday, June 19, 2018

The International Table Hockey Federation (ITHF) reports, Maxim Borisov of Russia defeated defending champion Edgars Caics of Latvia in the 2018 European Championship final to become the 1st player ever to win 3 European Championships.

Women– Maria Saveljeva, Estonia became the new European Champion in the Women category.

Juniors– Nikita Zholobov, Russia is the new European Champion in Juniors.

SuperVeterans– Janne Kokko, Finland became European Champion in SuperVeterans.

Veterans– Alexey Titov, Russia and successfully defended his title as European Champion in the Veterans category.

Kids– Evgeniy Matantsev, Ukraine successfully defended his title as European Champion in the Kids category.

Team events– Russia managed to defend its titles in the Open and Junior categories but lost its other two Team titles (Women and Veterans) to host nation Sweden.

Stiga Open– The very popular Stiga Open, an additional tournament provided at the venue for players who could not represent their countries in the main events, was won by Aleksandrs Zernovojs of Latvia.
